How your data is stored and kept secure
Last updated: 2026-10-13
Your answers, recordings and voice notes are personal. Here is where GenMind keeps them and how they are protected. For what we collect and who can see it, see our Privacy Policy.
On your phone
- Your sign-in is kept in your phone's secure storage (the iOS Keychain or the Android Keystore).
- If you answer while offline, your answers wait in an encrypted database on your phone and are sent as soon as you are back online.
- The pulse recording uses the camera only to measure color changes in your fingertip. No photo or video is taken or kept.
On its way to us
Everything the app sends travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS, TLS 1.2 or later).
On our servers
- GenMind runs on Amazon Web Services, in data centers located in the United States.
- Your information is encrypted when stored, in the database, in file storage and in backups.
- Some programs, such as research studies, run in their own separate environment, apart from every other organization's data.
- Your voice notes and recordings are analyzed by our own software, inside that environment. No outside artificial intelligence service receives them.
Who can open it
- Only the people your organization authorizes can see your information in GenMind. A clinician sees only the people assigned to them, and their access is logged.
- A research study team receives reports that identify you by your participant number, not by your name.
- Mindsigns Health staff access it only as needed to run, secure and support the service.
